Pre-Trip Party

Last Sunday we gathered together for an small party and introduction. Most of us know each other however a few didn't and we were also lucky enough to Skype with Adam, our furthermost partipant who lives on the East Coast.

Before our informal meeting we had a meal that featured many of the foods we will find in Eastern Europe including:

Klobasy

Pirohy

Bryndzove Halushky

Paradajky and Paprika

Of course there were some typical libations as well...Slivovice, Hruskovice, Becherovka, Demanovka...

One week from Saturday...can't wait!

Here We Go!

Wow! I can't believe we leave in just sixteen days!!! The plans are falling nicely into place...but as I have found out from past trips...the best laid plans...I'll just leave it at that. I've learned to become VERY flexible when it comes to my trips!

We are gathering on Sunday for some of us to meet each other...most of us already know the majority of the group, feast on some Slovak/Rusyn delicacies and spend time asking last minute questions.

This trip we have the added pleasure of having Slavo Mlynar with us as interpreter for our time in Bardejov and the villages.

We will begin our journey in Krakow.

Then travel to Strbske Pleso.

Next stop will be a brief visit to Cicmany.

We'll spend a day and a half in Bratislava.

Then visit the famous Spis Castle.

Last stop is Bardejov.

But the main focus will be visiting our ancestral villages.

Can't wait!!!
