Profound apologies for the tardiness in posting the last few days. Between a spotty internet connection at the pension and a few late nights it just has not been possible to keep up.
Saturday was our first day in the villages and we spent it in Chmelova. We visited the Prokipcak family (Penny's relatives) and had a tearful reunion with her cousin whom she has not seen in over 35 years.
They served our entire group a wonderful lunch and presented each of us with a ceramic soup bowl that had been created by a person in the village.
We left Penny to spend the day with her family while the rest of us paid a visit to Milka Dennis. It was wonderful to see her again and of course, more food was eaten.
The rest of the group headed to the spa for a folk performance while Adam, Slavo and I visited my cousin,Anna Prihatny and her family. It was Adam's first introduction to the villages and family visits.
We hooked up with the rest of the group at the spa and then headed back to the pension as others went to Vespers. Evenings are usually occupied with cribbage or dice games.
