Our Lovely Visit to the Beautiful Tatra Mountains

Our day started early with a shuttle to the airport to pick up our two rental cars. We arrived promptly at the designated time but no one was there. An hour later, a very apologetic young man came to help us. He had been woken from sleep by the company manager. After spending about an hour filling out forms offsite, mostly in Polish, we were on our way. We drove through the beautiful Polish countryside even seeing one of the famous wooden churches. We stopped for lunch right before the Slovak border at a charming hotel.

We finally made our way to the beautiful Patria Hotel in the Tatra Mountains only to be faced with this:

We cannot even see across the lake. Such a disappointment! But we made up for it by relaxing this evening...some of us with a trip to the spa and others with a lovely meal at the local restaurant, the Koliba.

Tomorrow we head to Bratislava with a few stops along the way. After our tour there, the real excitement begins with our visits to our ancestral villages.
